CTA Train

A few years ago, I created a bold, minimal illustration of a Toronto streetcar - an instantly recognizable Toronto icon - to celebrate the city. It appealed to Torontonians, expats, and tourists, becoming one of my top-selling typography prints on Etsy. After moving to Chicago, I wanted to create a Chitown counterpart; again, minimal and bold. The simplistic outline and the structure of the train provide just enough context without too much detail, and the colourful stripes in the windows, meant to demonstrate movement (as if the train is rushing through the tunnel), represent each CTA line: red, pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and brown line.
